Dr. Tam Yew Joon is a distinguished biotechnologist with over 20 years of experience in assay development and
bioprocessing, with a PhD in Molecular Biotechnology. As the Chief Scientific Officer for Biogenes Technologies., he leads the research
and development of aptamers and novel diagnostic platforms. Dr. Tam is pivotal in translating cutting-edge research into commercial
solutions, fostering extensive collaborations with universities and research institutions and oversees the entire scientific workflow
for manufacturing rapid test kits for fertility, drugs of abuse, and infectious diseases.
Previously, Dr. Tam was a Senior Lecturer at INTI International University, where his research focused on developing detection assays
for the agricultural, medical, and pharmaceutical sectors. His academic contributions include numerous publications in scholarly
journals, securing multiple research grants, and receiving awards at innovation exhibitions. His prior experience also includes
serving as a Consulting Expert for Biogenes Technologies, where he developed advanced DNA detection platforms involving electrochemical,
lateral-flow and LAMP-based assays together with a team of multidisciplinary researchers from various institutions.
